Storyline
The story revolves around Thorfin a slave bought by the landowner Ketil to get engaged in land reclamation work on his farm. Here Thorfinn meets a young man named Einar, who was also a slave like him. The encounter with Einar led Thorfinn to face the sins he had committed and began to find meaning in life.

Thorfinn
Thorfinn is the protagonist of the anime who was a former warrior of Askeladd’s band as well as a former slave on Ketil’s farm. Thorfinn currently is a trader and adventurer attempting to settle in Vinland.
Ketil
Ketil is a farm owner in Jutland, Denmark, who purchased both Thorfinn and Einar to work in his fields. He believes that even slaves are deserving of fair treatment. So much so that he gives everyone a chance to work for their freedom.
Einar
Einar is a former slave, who worked in a field in Northern England up until it was burned down during a Viking raid, afterward becoming a slave. He joins Thorfinn in his journey to Vinland and helps create Arnheid Village.
Arnheid
Arnheid was Ketil’s slave. She was Ketil’s personal maid and concubine. Arnheid tries to get through her life as a slave without any trouble and follows any command given to her by her master.
